When December is here, you know what time it is on TFW! The End Of Year Awards!

This is the second year the end of year awards have taken place since suggested by yours truly.

Now In my blog, I'm going to do a recap on each award and how the nominees got there.

Best Poster
Sparky_Hughes: Sparky received a total of 5 votes in the nominations for the awards, and I believe they are well deserved. Sparky has always been quality poster as well at his days from Sportal, and has carried his high reputation to becoming favourite for TFW's 2009 Best...

In the last few days the Crawford report into Olympic funding has been released and has basically suggested that Australia is spending too much money on sports that don't go anywhere and provide little return.

The head of the Australian Olympic Committee John Coates rejected the report, saying it was disrespectful and insult to Olympians.

Coates is an arrogant elitist completely out of touch with real world

The Olympics are nothing but a wankfest for sports that nobody cares about. Coates seems to think that the most important thing in the world...

As most know the All Whites after last nights win over Bahrain (a country of less then 800,000 people) have gained qualification to the Football WC. Now generally when a NZ team succeeds in such a way I am supportive and excited, however its not the case this time. I fear now that we are in the World Cup, it will diminish the talent in other sports, rugby union in particular. When a NZ kid is growing up they tend to play soccer for the early years but then when they hit a certain age (round 10-12) they switch and play rugby. Rugby is a popular choice as we are a very good rugby nation, one of the...

After a challenge from 14yo Power Supporter TealDevils to cocky and arrogant 19yo Crows Supporter CrowsBroncos to a quiz, murder erupted. Teal smashed CB as he made excuses about his late replies and answers.

This happened last night,

Just when we were about to close our KFC, these Robbers came in like five of them with those terroist masks and jumped our front counter and had around 20 Cm butcher Knives and threatened my manager for the main cash thing. They took around 2k and my managers wallet. And It was strange how I was the only one at front counter and was watching them jump, I didn't run for my life or scream I just stood there and watched them jump over. And they said to me - " Don't move Im not...

Today's word:
Northwest Nap

A very deep sleep where you are unable to hear telephones, text messages, and even the Air Force.
Named to honor the two fine pilots from Northwest Airlines and there little "in flight snooze"

Example: "Dude, I was so tired yesterday afternoon, I took a Northwest Nap. My girl called me 15 times and I didn't hear a thing"

Each day or so, I will post the word of the day.

HENDO'S 2009 REVIEW

The 2009 NRL season has come to an end with the Melbourne Storm being crowned Premiers for the 3rd time. The Storm, in their fourth Grand Final in a row defeated the Parramatta Eels 23-16, with star fullback, Billy Slater, receiving the Clive Churchill...

I just want to show members of the forum a bit of a story i began writing, forgive any spelling mistakes. Please leave thoughts Smile

You know your life turns to the shit, when one day you’re happily together with a girl and nothing could get in your way, and the next your snorting cocaine off a hooker’s stomach whilst heavily intoxicated and dreaming of a life we only lived weeks, months or years ago. It’s amazing how many great things in your life can always be overshadowed by the events of the future....

I think there probably is.

Darwinists argue for the Big Bang, but what was before the Big Bang? And before that?

These questions and more answered if you accept the theory of a supreme being not constrained by the bounds of time and space.

I also enjoy Pascal's wager. If there is a God, we could be in the shit if we don't believe in him, plus there could be an eternity of heaven up for grabs. If there is no God, we haven't lost much by believing in him.

There could be more in this series if you're lucky.

Yesterday was a quite a shock Hendo Finally given the nod as a Blue Mod after years of campaigning. Shooter attaining Blue Dress Status For God knows why and Becks well the less said the better about that one .
While i don't mind all three Hendo for his Quality Shooter for his all round evilness and Becks for his loose cannoness I originally thought this decision by the all powerful Panthers to be a travisty of justice but looking at the big picture i think these appointments will be a masterstroke .
I think these 3 "individuals" will do it their way and Keep People like Feldster...

Ok so with the AFL, NRL, Tri Nations and Cricket finishing up, and the A-League and Premier Leaue now in full swing, i thought it would be good to look back at what has happened and what there is to look forward to this Spring and Summer

AFL
Geelong vs St Kilda next week should be a cracker (assuming Geelong finish off the job tonight )

Both have deserved to make the final, and it will be a fantastic game next week.

My Prediction is Geelong to win the flag...

Music is art.

Art is about expression, about sending a message to the listener or viewer, a message with meaning that can be interpreted and reflected upon. This doesn't have to be a discrete message, I'm sure I get something different out of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds than you do.

Music remains art as long as the artist has creative control over their work. They are free to direct their message as they wish, and if they are clear enough about what they mean, and have the skill to execute it, can pull off something of amazing quality.

However, with most pop...

THE NEGATIVES:

  • World Champion Kiwis lose to the Kangaroos 10-38.
  • Hurricanes, who looked to have one of the strongest sides in the Super 14, were once again eliminated in the semi finals. In the 14 years of Super Rugby, the Hurricanes have played in the final seires 6 times, only making it through to the Final once.
  • All Blacks, nowhere near performing as good as they have done in recent years. Lost to France at home, were crap against Italy and lost to the Springboks twice in a row.
  • WARRIORS,...

THE BLEDISLOE CUP

Saturday night, Sydney in front of an 80,000 crowd the ABs done it again! Sealing the Bledisloe cup for the 7th year in a row.

I'd thought I'd include a little history lesson of the Bledisloe Cup before I get into the matches over the weekend.

Well the Cup was donated by Lord Bledisloe, a former Governer General of NZ way back in 1931....

Feldy at the Footy

This week, one of the big topics was Demon’s forward Russell Robertson, and his retirement from the Melbourne Football Club and desire to remain in the game. What team would take him? I have ordered the clubs from most likely to least likely to pick up Robertson here:

1. Port Adelaide

They are a club whom the experts claim should be playing finals, but inconsistency is holding them back. Mark Williams will be making some cuts, and the remainder of the team could benefit from a consistent player like Robertson

2. Essendon

V8 Supercars

Australian Touring Car Legend, Mark Skaife is back into the race seat as he suits up for the endurance races alongside iconic New Zealander, Greg Murphy. This will be the first time since he announced his retirement at the end of last season that he has raced in any racing class.

The first of what will be hopefully many blogs.

Ill start on the sporting field.

AFL- Well done the Blues for disposing of the Power. Id like to take this time to congratulate and wish all the best to the retirees of this season, especially the likes of Adam Simpson, Micky O and Joel Bowden who have all been great servents of their clubs.

EPL- The season started with a bang, unfortunately Liverpool started with a unheard pow with an uninspiring performance. Glen Johnson was good but I dont think we can be a premiership side with the likes of Lucas and Ryan Babel...
