DeRozan should win easy, don't know why Gordon is in there, love him as a player, but he's not really a dunker, would have preferred T-Will. Would like to see no Nate in the Dunk Contest this year. Sick of him, would love to see Shannon Brown, DeRozan, T-Will and someone else, maybe Rudy Gay or if LeBron wants in then him. 3pt Shoot Out, we have to see Anthony Morrow! And for the All-Star game I'm expecting to see Deron Williams, Brandon Roy, Gerald Wallace make up part the benches. They've all been absolutely robbed in the voting so far. Can't find the latest release, but Roy and Williams are at the bottom of the guards in the west. It's a joke. Andre Iguodala said he'll challenge Derrick Rose for the Skills Challenge And for the Rookie/Sophomore game anyone think we'll see David Anderson in there for the Rooks? |
I was sick of Howard in Dunk Contest. Love Gordon as a player but no chance although I will be cheering for him (A bit of a suprise he made it)
Hopefully we see Wallace, Lee in the Allstar game and no T-Mac as a starter - Bloody ridiculous!
Dave Anderson wont be in the rookie Challenge.
Rookie starters will be:
C - Jonas Jenbko PF - Dejaun Blair SF - Omri Casspri SG - Tyreke Evans PG - Johny Flynn
(Still got likes of Jennings, Harden on the bench)
Sophomores:
C - Brook Lopez PF - Jason Thompson SF - Michael Beasly SG - OJ Mayo PG - Derrick Rose
(Still got likes of Westbrook, Love on Bench) |

| If those are the lineups the Sophomores will absolutely kill the rookies. Are you sure Jerebko will play centre? I didn't think he was a centre, let alone a power forward. |

Yeah I was looking for a decent Center but really couldnt remember any that stood out (he a pf).
Sophmores will thrash I am sure. Any team with Love and Westbrook on the bench must be doing some good ae !!!!!!!!!! |

| I hate to put a negative spin on things, but I think most of All-Star weekend needs to be given the sack, and the method of picking the players for the ASG changed dramatically. Yao was out for the season yet was the leading vote-getter one year. Three years ago Shaq played 6 games before the ASG yet started for the East, along with his teammate Dwyane Wade and Gilbert Arenas, so you're talking 3 starters from teams with records of .300 or under. And the last real dunk contest was in 2003, since then blecch. It's all about throwing little shenanigans in beforehand. Gerald Green did nothing more than a basic dunk, a normal one-handed flush, but for some reason 'cause there was a cupcake on the rim that he blew out, it was a 50. I thought we were grading the dunk not freaking cupcakes. Throw in the bias towards throwing votes Nate's way, especially by Kenny Smith (watch the dunk contest '06 and listen to him, also watch him give Nate a 50 after all the excitement had gone out of his dunk on try #12 or 14 or something). With the way they are picked it just doesn't seem to be as much of an honor as it used to be. I can't comment on Rookie/Soph, I don't know much about the Rookies at all. The 3 point shootout is the best part of the weekend for me these days, love watching guys that know how to shoot a ball, it's a dying skill these days. |

| Chorus how do they pick the 3 pt/Dunk comp?
If I was to pick it Gay has to be in the Dunk comp, House and Frye in the 3pt.
As far as the All Star lineups go I think its bullshit. They should be done another way, how the F*** can T-Mac be in the starting lineup and same for Iverson last season when at the Pistons????? |

But I disagree with Chorus saying some things need the sack. |

| Jerebko is a SF isn't he..? I'd go with
Blair Gibson Casspi Evans Jennings
Curry, Harden, Flynn, Lawson, Jerebko
Lopez Love Beasley Mayo Rose
Gordon, Gasol, Westbrook, Thompson, Gallinari
Very guard dominated draft this year, they might go with Thabeet just for a C who imo has been pretty good this year. Stats don't show the full story there, when I've seen the Grizz play, Thabeet has played very well (got about 6 blocks against us I think) and he just fills the lane very well. |

I'm not sure how they pick it, I'm not sure if you're asking a rhetorical question or not though. Agreed with critiquing the way to pick the lineups. It just becomes a popularity contest and the same people vote over and over (in China esp it would seem). Is Yao going to be starting the ASG when he's 40? I dunno how they pick the Dunk and 3point contest contestants, I guess it's not internet vote though otherwise they could just vote in their faves for those as well and Yao would be in both lol Until not long ago the NBA had a rule that only players in their first three seasons in the league could participate in the dunk contest, hence the name Rising Stars Dunk Contest. |

| Crash, Brown and Nate have been named in the Dunk Contest. I was just thinking the other day that Crash would go good in this after seeing some of his blocks from the last few weeks. Would've still liked to have seen T-Will in there somewhere, either instead of Gordon or Nate (who is one of his biggest followers, he's been all over twitter - yes I know the things lame but it's straight from the horses mouth though, saying 'Man hope my boy @therealtwill is in the dunk contest' and 'I think the champ should be able to vote one player of his choice in the dunk contest and I vote for @therealtwill') |

| Steve Nash has overtaken the Houston Rockets' Tracy McGrady to secure a starting spot on the Western Conference All-Star team, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday. Nash had trailed McGrady by more than 2,000 votes at the time of the most recent release. The presence of McGrady and Allen Iverson as possible All-Star starters has created many criticism from players, the media and fans to change the in which voting is conducted. Lucky for the NBA. But it isn't clear in my mind whether it was rigged |
