Ziebell's signed on for a further three years. That's so bloody awesome.

I could have sex with Miranda Kerr right now and it still wouldn't make me as happy as that news just did.

worried about harbrow. think hes got a foot out the door already Sad
hopefully we can secure griff too.

the good sign with cooney is that he got it down now, and not at the end of the season using the gold coasts offer to inflate his salary.

Apparently they're targetting Nathan Krakouer.

Would be disappointing to lose him but I'd rather they take him than Travis Boak who is also out of contract.

They can't take more than 1 out of contract player per club can they?

Might as well make this the thread for GC's chasing of out of contract players.

I don't think Boak will leave, and I'm confident on it. He's gonna be the next captain of the club IMO. Krakouer I would hate to leave, but I can't see it either...but In the case of Krakouer I might be wrong.

Scotty Thompson, Patty Dangerfield and Nathan Bock have been linked to the mongrels. Last I heard, their top priority out of those is Thompson (who is, just quietly, the one that would hurt least to lose out of those 3). Hopefully they keep their grubby hands off the lot of 'em.

sadly agree. would be very disappointing considering everything weve done for him. taking him in the rookie draft and then elevating him. arguably, if he was at any other club he could be a chance to be delisted, or already be, instead of getting close to AA and demanding a big slice of the gc salary.

and yeah i think its 1 per club, and if we had to lose one of cooney, harbrow and griff, harbrow would be the one, but still think he should sign with us. bit of loyalty wouldnt hurt Sad with clayton at the gc, he has his eye on a lot of our players that he drafted, most are out of reach though. hopefully if we have to lose one its sammy reid or tiller Smile

Only thing i can see keeping him at the club, hes best mates with gray and trengrove, and possibly if PA offer some serious incentives/cash bonuses, i think he would prefer to be playing in Melbourne

shit. imagine him at geelong Shocked
but the flaw with this is, if he goes to say collingwood or hawks then its a good 2 to 3 hr to torquay? just like when reiwoldt (think it was him??) was linked to gc because hes from there even though, where he grew up was a good 3/4 hrs away

hah, if gazza goes i would bank on him ending up at geelong

and ftr i was just stating him being a torquay boy as a useless fact, not to suggest anything about moving there like in rooeys case.

Torquays only like 50 minutes from the City

Yeah I've read a few different things about Thompson this year. One things pretty certain though, he looks set to be leaving the Crows, but it's about where to go. Obviously Gold Coast are interested, but I remember a few weeks back hearing he's interested in a return to the Demons. I think adding him to what is an already extremely talented team would be brilliant. He'd add plenty, quality player.
