Its the match up that the A-league has always wanted. Melbourne taking on Sydney in the biggest game of the season. The two biggest cities, the biggest rivals, and the two best teams will face off at Etihad in the 2010 A-league grand final to play for the ultimate prize. So will Melbourne go back to back? Or will Sydney claim their second title since the beginning of the A-league? We are only a game of football away from finding out.

PREDICTION:
Both sides have played each other enough recently to show that this is impossible to predict. But I strongly believe that the packed home crowd in Melbourne, will be enough to get the boys home in a very tight contest. I can even see this one going to a penalty shootout but I think this match will be decided during extra time, where victory having the extra week off and the fresher legs, will be enough to see the win. I will say 3-2 A.E.T

If Breeze is refferring the grand final again it's a joke, Delovski's proven he's the best ref in the league so hopefully he gets the nod.

As for the game...well it sucks that it has to be Melbourne v Sydney. Like Tank said, no Adelaide fan wants to see this. Hopefully Sydney get the win because I dont think I could handle seeing the Victory win another Championship.

Just heard on FSN that Aloisi is almost certain to miss the GF whilst Shannon Cole is almost certain to play, well hes at least in contention.

I'm not too fussed with Aloisi not being around, it'd be great if he could play in the form he's in but Payne was awesome against Wellington and hopefully, if selected by Lavicka, he can do so against Melbourne.

Not sure whether Cole will make the cut or not. Ryall has been playing really well for us while in the side.

I'm gonna go with a 2-1 win to Sydney. Both teams have what it takes and it's really a tough one to pick, but I reckon we will be fired up after losing harshly to Melbourne in the first finals tie. Plus, we've proved we can do it in Melbourne. Archie is going to be a HUGE threat as he was in the SFS two weeks ago, so we need to keep tight on him and Hernandez as we did in that same game. Also, watch out for the quick freekicks. They've punished us cruelly once off them, let's not let it happen twice.

Really hope we win it. And when I say that, I mean it. Our other GF win came back in 2006 and while I remember watching Dwight Yorke assist our winning goal in that huge game, it's not a very clear memory as I didn't support the A-League fully then so I don't exactly have that momentous occasion that I can savour and happily remember as Melbourne fans would. I seriously can't wait. There's pre-game stuff from 6pm onwards an I'm sure there'll be about an hour or so of stuff after the match. Will definitely watch the pre-game stuff and depending on the result will watch the post-game stuff. I don't think I'll be up for it if we lose, but if we win, I'll be savouring it by just watching the replays and hearing the discussion that the post-match review will bring.

I wish I could go but I can't as a) I'm only 15 and can't really get around, b) I don't have the money and c) I have cricket semis this weekend, which are played on Saturday AND Sunday morning, so it'd be almost impossible to get back in time for them. I'll be sitting in front of the telly giving the boys my full support though. Very Happy

Got the tickets today!!

We dominated at the SFS and id expect much of the same at Eitihad. Archie will play a big role, he's a big stage player and Sydney struggled to contain he's speed in the semi (or prelim or what ever).
The atmosphere should be awesome, im expecting a packed Etihad. Victory will opefully win their 3rd toilet seat in 5 years and further prove themselves as the most succesful a-league club.
