Does anyone know how fast the fastest ever ball bowled is ?

pretty sure it was 161.8km/h or something very close to that by shoaib akhtar, it will take some beating I would say

really ? i heard that some guy bowled 170kmph ages ago .Probably wasnt true tho

apparently tait has been up to 166 in training though

and rumour has it that ishant sharma (yes ishant sharma) can bowl 160 full pelt

Yeh I think it was around about 161

Pretty sure Scott Styris might have been the batsmen to face it if I remember correctly (which I probably don't)

Yeah Shoaib Akhtar did an 162km/h bowl to Craig McMillan in New Zealand and that was for a Test Match.

Also in the 2003 World Cup, Akhtar did one at 162.9km/h and Brett Lee the next day did 161.1km/h, that's when they both were pretty much at their peak for bowling speed.

Ahktar has the quickest recorded delivery although I'd love to know what Thommo was at in his hey day. It would've been very fast indeed.

I think that the quickest ball will either be a yorker or a full toss. I feel that the once the ball hits the deck, the speed is gone from it.

Having said that I watched Ahktar's ball again and it bounced hahahaha!

Maybe Johnson could take the mantle or Tait.

Johnson, unlike Lee nowadays (probably coz of age) is very consistent with his speed...145km/h almost every ball.

Yeah i watched both, and boy Sami's looked very quick as well, don't know if it actually was 164km/h an hour though, but it looked very quick. Akhtar's was as well.
