Some great news for Kiwi fans (finally) Jessie Ryder played his first game for ages today and scored 103 Smile

Wow Get him back in the side as soon as possible. This is really good news for Kiwis. McCullum and Ryder batting together again love these two when they are batting together!

Why, it's not like he runs anyway.
Just hits it.

Be interesting how long he lets before he gets on the piss again.

This is great. You have Ryder with an avrage of 50, Taylor with an avrage of 43(and
going up fast), Vettori and McCullum, thats a very solid middle lower
order indeed. But the top 3 need to see off 20-40 overs consistatly.

Yeah in Test's matches its always our top 3 that fails. Thats why i wouldn't mind see McCullum open or atless bat at 3.

The openers should be Macintosh and promote Ryder or Guptill to open with Williamson in the middle order.

Why Svoerman? He does it at International level. The only reason I don't think he opens in the test match format is because they like to give the keepers a rest after keeping for the whole innings.

McCullum would do a hell of alot better than what some of the openers have been doing lately for us.

McCullum isn't an opener. He is an opener in the sense that Adam Gilchrist was an opener. They're both players who are used for the explosive starts in the shorter forms of the games. Also Brendon stuggled when he was batting at 5 (in Australia and in England) so if he can't bat at 5 in the longer form, he will stuggle to Open. Very rearly do players just become openers.

Also don't compare McCullum to Gayle as Gayle has been an opener since he got into the Windies test team and is used to opening at the longer form.

Well McCullum is wasted down the order imo. He runs out of batsmens or has to hit out or get out because he has useless partners.

aided by the fact that he is hands down one of the most inconsistent batsman...
