Metal legends Metallica will be playing shows in Australia and
New Zealand in November.
At a recent news conference in Bogota, Columbia, when asked
what their plans were after their current tour of South America, singer
James Hetfield told reporters, "Europe," then drummer Lars Ulrich added:
"We're staying out and doing dates up till November, in Australia and
New Zealand, is where we're heading in November.
"And then after that we're gonna take a little bit of chill
time, because it's been a couple of years on the road."
Ulrich said after that, there will probably be a new record.

Legendary heavy metal act Metallica have announced they are returning to our shores this October/November.

Killyourstereo reported earlier this month that an Australian tour was in the works. The iconic metal quartet will perform down under as part of the World Magnetic tour.

The epic world tour started out in Arizona, October 2008 in support of their current album Death Magnetic.

During the last decade alone Metallica have played to a collective audience of more than 3.5 million people. Currently on tour in Europe, the Australian and New Zealand dates mark the culmination of their world tour and will be Metallica’s first Australian shows since January 2004.

Formed in 1981, Metallica have become one of the most popular and influential bands in the world, successfully spanning the divide between metal and mainstream audiences and selling more than 100 million records worldwide (the 7th biggest selling act in American music history).

Taking to the stage for more than two hours Metallica will feature material drawn from throughout their career, performing in the round in the centre of the arena, on a custom built stage and with their full world tour production.

Australian tour dates:

Monday October 18 - Entertainment Centre, Brisbane

Friday October 22 - Burswood Dome, Perth

Wednesday November 10 - ACER Arena, Sydney

Monday November 15 - Entertainment Centre, Adelaide

Thursday November 18 - Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne

Tickets on sale Thursday May 13, 9am.

So quite the dilemma

It was a worked out a couple of weeks ago that 8 of us guys were keen for Metallica. Knowing we could only get 4 tickets per person we arranged 2 people to purchase the tickets. 9am this morning came along and only one mate managed to get tickets. Now the mate that got the tickets text me this morning saying he got his 4 but only had two spares...Two Spares? I asked. Yes it seems he's been seeing this girl for like a week and has promised her a ticket!! If my other mate had get through we would of ended up with 8 tickets for 9 people because he didn't let us know that this girl was on the scene.

Anyway turns out we've got 2 spare tickets and 7 of us want them. I have a friend who has seen Metallica twice already so he kindly said he would let someone else have them. So we are now down to 6. Now 3 of the 6 aren't massive Metallica fans like us other 3 so I see it only fair that 2 of us real Metallica fans get the tickets. But that still means 1 of us misses out.

I propose a Metallica quiz is the only way to solve this dilemma.

I say the girl shouldn't go.
You guys had the deal for ages, and she just comes along and now one hard-core Metallica fan misses out.

Dog of Metallica to play only 2 shows at a shitty indoor venue in Auckland that only holds 12,000 per show. NZ is 50% bogan that's 2million Metallica fans!! 24,000 tickets for 2million people, it just doesn't add up.
