Record of no record, she has sailed around the world at the age of 16. I think she deserves a thread...

It's an impressive feat but I don't get why we need all the fanfare.

Lol its on every fucking channel I turn to . Nine, Seven, Ten and Sky News . Oh well, 1nm off of the finish line apparently...thats about 15 mins or so I guess. Then the 35-40 minutes to actually get to the Opera House, then the endless interviews shes going to do over the next week or so. She'll be on every TV channel over the next week.

Haha yeah. I was watching 7 a bit ago and they had some dude on who was all surprised coz she went past Sydney and decided to come in from the North, against the wind. Such a stupid idea, youd think with all the weather forecasting available theyd take the easiest and quickest route

If CH10 delay their live coverage of the football I am going to shoot her. edit: Onehd you can watch the reception and normal channel 10 you can watch the footy. All's good

It's been over hyped too much but regardless of all of the media coverage it's a good effort to go around the world solo I think so kudos to her.

| If i had abit of spare time up my sleeve i can guarantee i would do it in half the time she did. She gives Watson a bad name, Shane Watson now that name is champion material. _________________ RIP Marco Simoncelli 1987 - 2011

Well she isn't my hero, but like you, I can respect what she has done. According to the online dictionary...a hero means 'a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities'. First off, she isn't a man lol...but she is admired for her 'brave deeds' and it does take courage to sail around the world at the age of 16. So I guess to some, she is a hero. |

I doubt any of you would have the balls (or the tits in her occasion) to take almost a year out of your time to sail around the world. She deserves all the applauds she gets and she should be respected. And you just don't understand the concept. If we win the world cup, it's the top of the field, they are heroes. She sailed around the world solo, that is the top of her field.

I agree with Damo, she deserved all the plaudits she gets. The media attention she's receiving is a little over the top though. I say this again, thank god for Foxtel.
