The season kicks off on Wednesday with Queensland hosting last season's champions Tasmania. It should be a cracking match. I'll chuck up a matchday thread in a few days unless anyone puts one up earlier.

Anyone wanna answer my above question ^^^^?

Oh and who's everyone's tip to win One Day Comp? I can't go past my Vics haha.

1. Victoria
2. Queensland
3. South Australia
4. Tasmania
5. Western Australia
6. New South Wales

I reckon 1-4 will be extremely close.

Um for Sheffield Shield, should we make a Matchday thread and Discussion thread? Or one for both??

And if we make a thread for Matchday and Discussion should that go in the Matchday board? Or just the Cricket board?

IMO we should the one thread for Discussion and Matchday.
Sounds alright to me.

with the first up and running, I think I get how the new format goes.

So its pretty much like a test match in a one-dayer. 1ST INNINGS - Bat until 20 overs are done, 2ND INNINGS - team that are batting second chases the first teams total, gets the lead then keeps on batting until 20 overs are done, 3RD INNINGS - first team chases the new target which was created by the second team. 4TH INNINGS - second team chases the total and if they do, they win; they dont, they lose.

Table (after two rounds):

1. Tasmania (10 pts)
2. Victoria (9 pts)
3. New South Wales (5 pts)
4. South Australia (5 pts)
5. Queensland (1 pts)
6. Western Australia (0 pts)
---
Still early days, though Tasmania looking the team to beat once again this season. Victoria will only get better with the return of Siddle, White, Hastings, McKay, Pattinson (both) etc. Same can be said about Queensland with Hopes, Harris and Cutting all to return to our side.

Over 44.5: Duval to Rimmington, no ball, everyone in the ring now as Rimmington is on strike to a high full toss, a NO BALL!! He edged it along the ground to Manou and they ran. Queensland WIN by 3 wickets.

Wow, what a finish to this game! It was chaos at the end but the Bulls found a way to get home.

---
Woohoo, you beauty!! Grin Was following the game on Cricket.com.au and it was a tense finish, looked like we had it in the bag at one stage then the Redbacks got Reardon, in the end Philipson, Hartley and Dunk all scored handy runs to get us home. Lynn was the hero for us scoring 70 in quick time, another good score from him this season.

Bad luck to the Redbacks, but about time we won a close game, we've already had two tough losses to start the season. Job well done boys.

BULLS!

^ Yeah it must be a huge relief for you fellas, you needed to win this one, good on yas.

Table (after three rounds):

1. Tasmania (14 pts)
2. Victoria (9 pts)
3. Queensland (6 pts)
4. New South Wales (6 pts)
5. South Australia (5 pts)
6. Western Australia (5 pts)

---

Well Tasmania looking very good early on. So far, like last season, it looks like it's going to be very evenly contested.

The next round of One-Day Cup matches are massive. It's 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6.

Keep up the posting fellas!

Yeah for sure despite playing quite well against Tasmania and Victoria we only had one point to show for it, it was pretty much a must win game today.

As you said the next round is going to be huge.

Today's match between Victoria and Tasmania was abanded.

Victoria made a solid score 2/112 from their 20 overs. The game was then abanded just 4.1 overs into Tasmania's innings with them on 1/9.

Really unhappy about the match being abanded, we were in a nice position.

NSW and SA both had good wins yesterday.

Dan Christian has had a great week. He took 6-48 and scored 86 to get the Redbacks over the line. Earlier in the week against the Tigers he took 3-55 and hit 30 odd off 10 balls or something like that (scored 24 off one Krejza over).

^ Yeah Dan Christian killed us yesterday. Another loss for us Sad We really need to find some form if we want to play in the final, we've been off our game since our good start in the comp.

NSW just defeated SA by three runs. Game of the season (televised games) thus far imo.

First of all what an innings by Khawaja, it was a joy to watch... surely this knock has cemented his spot in the Blues side in this form of the game. Maddinson also played really well... I've only seen him play twice but he looks a real player of the future. Great to see the big bloke Smithy hit a handy 20 odd at the end.

Dan Christian was awesome for the Redbacks, hit 80 odd off just 40 balls, really deserved a century. He's definitely got to be in contention for the ODI's later in the summer. Solid innings from Klinger, he and O'Brien really should have won that game for SA. Credit to Lee and Dougy who did the job for NSW at the end.

Overall a great game of Cricket!

Tassie fell to WA today to end their One-day final hopes. And SA defeated QLD.

So there's only the Victoria vs NSW game left in the season before the final. It looks like we'll be hostingq the final unless NSW absolutely kill us and pick up the 1st stage business point on the way. If Victoria win then it's a replay of last year's final, Victoria vs Tasmania.

Deserved wooden spoon for us, we've been pretty woeful in this form of the game. We only had something like three players who had played more then nine games in our side yesterday.

Dan Christian's thoughts: http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/christians-plea-cut-split-innings/story-e6frecj3-1226008756947
