Fox sports FC, they are really having a dig at each other, Kewell is speaking from Turkey about Slater's article last week Which said "Players told Kewell too F*** off from the socceroos squad" Robbie also thinks Kewell needs to go from the Aussie squad. Hopefully a video will be up soon!

IN AN extraordinary TV interview, Socceroo and Galatasaray star Harry Kewell has vehemently denied allegations made by former Socceroo Robbie Slater in a recent column.

If anybody thinks Harry Kewell should still play for Australia is kidding themselves. You've got to be thinking the 2014 World Cup, and no way Kewell at 36 I think it is, will be good enough then.

Shame on you Robbie Slater you bald-headed, ex-red head piece of shit. How dare you criticise and make up rumours about one of the greatest players to ever pull on the Socceroos shirt.
Sure, he's no Craig Foster, but he's done more for football in this country than you ever will, I feel disgusted to know that you're a football journalist. You give experts like myself a bad name.

If i was thinking about the Asian Cup i would have Kewell in the mix, it would be his last tournament for Australia, but i would still go into the Asian cup looking to win it not just to use it to play younger players.

In the short term, maybe so. In the grand scheme of things, how Australia performs at the Asian Cup really doesn't matter. It's about giving the younger players experience at the highest level Asia will give them.

Its very important Australia looks to win the Asian cup, in the long term and short term.

Winning a major international trophy will continue to raise the awareness of the game and not to mention opens the door to compete in the Confederations Cup, which for some reason we have done very well at some times.

I would much rather young players got their experience though WC and AC qualifying games, rather then just be thrown to the wolves in a competition we should always look to win.

I've never been a fan of the tabloid rumour stories that are becoming more and more common in sport. Slater's piece was just that. Don't think Harry went that off his head either, he was defending himself and he has the right to do that.
