Preview
Friday night draws Geelong and Carlton to the table who will contest at Etihad Stadium. Both teams are coming off big wins and Carlton also from the week before. The Blues have beaten the Cats the last 2 times both being at the M.CG. Could they do it for a third time? Or will Etiad Stadium strengthen the Cats. Few key players for both teams are Jeff Garlett from Carlton who is in ripping form kicking 10 goals in his last 2 matches and was part of the small man brigade the terrorised the Cats defence last time. Chris Judd is another one who has lifted significantly practically being BOG for the past 2 matches Carlton will need those 2 players to fire if they are to repeat their recent wins against Geelong.
Some important players for Geelong who will be expected to feauture prominently will be Joel Selwood who has been the Cats best player for the past 6 weeks. And Steve Johnson who has been Russell's bitch for the last 2 matches would love to get one back on him and really lift.
If Carlton win then they would be one step closer to a home final depending on what Sydney do so they would want to win but it will come down to the last game anyway so I suppose a loss wouldn't do the greatest of harm if results go their way. Whereas the Cats will finish 2nd or 3rd doesn't matter too much but would like to win to have good form approaching the finals. Shapes up to be a beauty and with Carlton's recent form against Geelong I'm giving them a real chance but falling short.
Cats by 21.
