he had an out clause for last year of contract, they need to rebuild a bit, wont be a huge tragedy, Sanderson will do a great job as head coach and Bomber endorses him.

Ken Hinkley to take over imo. I would go with him.

It will obviously be Hinkley or Sanderson imo, they would want someone who has already been involved.

Oh dear...well maybe it's time for a change 11 years he has had the job for so maybe time to change for him. If he does leave then I sincerly thank him for what he has done and wish him luck for wherever or whatever he chooses to go/do in the future. Still not buying into the whole "Could this be our demise" thingy we still will give it a good shake next year and possibly beyond.

So far there's 3 options that the media are throwing around:

1) Mark Thompson to leave Geelong in order to take up a position at Essendon
2) Mark Thompson to leave Geelong due to health reasons
3) Mark Thompson to remain at Geelong

says he having 3 months off, he is gone cant take 3 off then coach a side lol

The assistants will take over in the off-season, and if he's only taking 3 months off he'll be back by January.

If not, they've got time to work out who's coaching them next year. The Cats believed it would be Bomber's last year next year anyway, as Bomber wanted to move into property development after his contract expired.

Apparently Choco will be announced as an Essendon assistant in the coming days. As we know it's either him or Bomber. Both have flags under their belt and experience but Thompson couldn't give two shits, he's over coaching and Choco has the passion yet has a very arrogant personality so I'm not sure who I prefer if either takes the coaching role.

Isn't Bomber meant to be director of coaching so Hirds boss, Laidley as assistant, on Footy Show the snippets of Bombers speeches sounds like he is retiring.

Laidley i a fantastic game day coach, Hird cant go in head first obviously so will be surrounded by experience, Chocco is a control freak so cant see him as assistant.
