Lockyer has played fb yet he would never be allowed. Same goes for Prior he's hardly a centre mate, we said we would go off DT positions unless obvious cases arose (eg. Beau Scott at Centre).. Your call if you want his score this week.

Rog has stated if it's within a three year period of playing in that position then it's allowed, plus he has already told me Prior is okay to play at centre on this occasion.

That opens up a can of worms.. Means Carney can play FB now when we all no that won't happen again. I'm sure there are alot more cases now, thought that's why we made the DT position rule in the first place to stop arguements like this.

Carney should be able to play Fullback, He has demonstrated he is capable of playing there. Who care if he doesn't play there actively. Coaches always pull suprises like Ferguson at Fb this week and Kingston at half last round. It's not like it's a rare thing that coaches make unorthodox changes.

Tamou would be the biggest halfback in the world.

Mate, Inglis is 108kg, Best centre in the world. he is a player the size of a forward that has demonstrated he is capable of playing there.

Prior is one kilo lighter. and has shown in the past he can hold his own in that position.

Until you and rog agree on stone concrete rules then I am well within my right to play Matt Prior at centre.

mostly backrower with agility and with good defence can play centre these days. Zeb Taia filled in there the other week when the Knights were down on troops.

We had rules before the season started, i was under the impression they hadn't changed.

Laughing

Hodges is 97 kilos which means he's 11 kilos lighter than HR puff 'N' Stuff. Plus, Hodges has played 2 nrl games over 560 odd days.

And about half the talent thing, well that's just laughable.

Look guys I don't want to have to start the same argument again. Yes there was a rule at the start of the season where players can only play in their position on NRL DT. I had relaxed the rules a little in order to allow flexibility for teams. This Prior example isn't completely ridiculous because he has played there before and been named. Yes I know it was last year but it is recent enough unlike Lockyer at FB. Whoever has Carney can name him at FB this week for what I care. I will limit the position they have to played to 2010 onwards only.

Not All Is Well At Flying Knights
The Newcastle Knights have been hit with a depth problem going into Round Five, Facing a side who has posted more points with them would be a challenge but when the Knights are down to 15 players, well that just makes it a bigger obstacle.

Forward Joe Picker, Winger David Williams and Utility Ben Rogers all remain on the sideline with Centre Dylan Farrell a chance to return this week although still contracted to the Raiders until Round 7 on loan.

Although boasting a impressive forward pack and a set of halves who get the job done, they are struggling to field the required with limited outside opportunists.

Coach Thtr took a risk in giving Chris Sandow captaincy and it partially paid dividends when the improving Souths half scored 43 over-night. Averaging 38 for the season.

Namely at hooker do the Knights struggle, with fill-in Knight utility Marvin Karawana in the starting No.9, He came into the fray with Rogers dislocating his shoulder.

The Knights have started strongly in 2011 posting 3 wins and 1 by the narrowest of losses but look to fail to post the win against the Broncos this week.

Coach Thtr will be investigating throughout the week to solve the problems the side has battled with.

The Knights forward pack face being broken up with Thtr left with not much choice but to trade in depth and get a required hooker.

Mika Mystery, Farrell Returns

Due to the late scratching of Knights enforcer Zeb Taia last night came the magic act of Con Mika.

Mika who literally came from nowhere was not considered by coach Thtr to make any sort of impact this season, Not only did he return but the Knights fringe forward scored 35 in a desperate bid to return to the top squad. Although he won't be replacing Taia he will be competiting for a bench spot after his strong performance.

Knights also welcome back Utility Dylan Farrell after serving four weeks with cellar dwellers Canberra with the team from the nation's capital opting to end the loan period two weeks pre-mature as they are now able to field a 17-man squad.

Anthony Watts sacked

NRLMG's most troubled club has suffered yet another blow - the sacking of Anthony Watts. The Raiders will have no choice but to sack him after the events which have transpired.

The incident occurred after Watts was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. An AVO was yesterday served against Watts who will face court on Thursday

Canberra Raiders officials claimed they will keep him on their list, in case he finds a home at another NRL club, but were refusing to make any further comment.

The Raiders are blessed with depth in the hooking role, with Isaac De Gois, Alan Tongue and young gun James Segeyaro not looking out of place at dummy-half. James Segeyaro is likely to take the permanent utility spot on the bench.

This is a another blow to the winless Canberra side, but coach Brenton is in for the long haul and won't be stepping down any time soon, an inside source revealed.

"We are all disappointed in Anthony and the actions he took. Everyone makes mistakes but we must draw a line in the sand and say enoughs enough" said the source.

Talks End in New Signing!!!

After many talks with the NRL CEO's Roger and Beckham as well as talks with the St George Illawarra Dragons, Manly Sea Eagles Manager Hank Moody has made a shock exit from the club and signed a new 1 year deal with the Dragons.

Talks came as early as a week ago where Moody put his name forward to turn the Dragons season around after starting the season 0-7. In hindsight this leaves the Eagles without a manager after Moody built them from the ground up.

"It's just something i always wanted to do is bring a team back from the dead, and returning to my home away from home down in the Illwarra region is going to make it an easy transition." Moody Stated. "They have talent like Tolman, Gidley and Soward in which i will make the clubs leaders in hopes to turn the season around and hopefully give them a finals berth."

Moody will start Managing the Dragons from Round 8, So trades are welcome with other managers having to keep an open mind that for the key three listed above won't be traded unless a massive deal un-folds.

As for the Eagles, where will they go without a pioneer? Moody hopes someone will take over the club and continue their success.

Uncertain future over Zeb Taia

Newcastle Knights have been dealt a heavy blow to their NRLMG Title contention with the surrounding concern over back-rower Zeb Taia.

The former vice-captain of the side suffered a serious neck injury that was pressing against his spinal cord and fears of career-ending has been seriously considered.

He plans to save his career by going for emergency surgery and giving up 2011 in order to play again. This comes after the miraculous comeback of former team-mate Ben Ross who has come through 2011 thus far unscathed, Ross made a successful transition into the starting side last night to cover for the injury to English forward Sam Burgess.

"We plan to be very patient with Zeb and we brought Ben to the club under the same patience and understanding"

Knights underachievers

COACH Thtr has been disgusted with his sides recent performances wielding the axe last week and looking for the change.

A side that boasts hooker Matt Ballin (whose recent performances at hooker has been only second to nrlmg mastermind cameron smith), Dragons workhorse Matt Prior and NSW half candidate Mitchell Pearce amongst other players with great attack such as last weeks hat trick hero Brett Stewart and freakish finisher Blake Ferguson..alot of potential some of which not aiming up.

Though The Knights are expecting to field a strong Rnd 12 team after the bye with Raiders improver Joe Picker and his team mate Sam Williams who looked to have beaten Matt Orford to secure the number 7. Knights also most likely having a third half on board with rookie Tyrone Roberts while he is filling in for the injured Kurt Gidley for a great chance to make a statement to the higher ranked teams

Matt Ballin re-signs with Newcastle

No hesistance as the Knights re-sign Matt Ballin for 2011/12.

Matt is a wonderful player and is very under-rated; Certainly dependable amongst every sense of the word and it was a no brainer for him to remain at the club for an extended period of time... Thtr stated in a media release today

Knights now state that Ballin will not be available for transfer for the remainder of 2011 at minimum instance as club is more then happy with his services...

Warriors welcome back players

Warriors' coach Roger is relieved in seeing some of his stars return from injuries. In a round where no less than 6 teams have a bye and some with Origin rep duty, it was always going to be a tough round to field a 17.

Lachlan Coote returns just in time after a month on the sidelines and will be keen to get some points. Bryson Goodwin also returns after 2 weeks off and will be looking for goals. Also on the comeback is Nev Costigan who was injured in round 1. There is also good news with Sam Rapira, Ben Hunt, Troy Thompson and Glen Fisiiahi close to coming back from their injuries. The club however is without Kevin Gordon and Sam Burgess who are out for the season and Chris Lawrence not expected to be back by the last few rounds of the season.
