Dylan Farrell set to cash in on Inglis saga: Thtr

Knights coach Thtr expects the NRL to officially block Greg Inglis's move to South Sydney, Contrary to reports Auditor Ian Schubert was rumoured to be at a Roosters function telling colleagues of the misadventure saying "It won't go through".

"As an avid Rabbitohs supporter I am bitterly dissapointed with how mediocre this saga has been dealt to hands, Not the fact that Inglis won't finish his transation into a rabbitoh but how long the process has gone on for, Mediocrity at his best"

For Dylan Farrell this news is welcoming.

The 19 year old former Souths centre was set to miss out on a starting 17 spot for Newcastle due to Inglis blocking his path at South Sydney; However as the Inglis deal now appears to be unlikely to take place Dylan Farrell will take his spot in the Rabbitohs and Knights line-ups respectively.

"Taking a positive from a negative Dylan will give myself an extra option to go to for 2011"

In other news Knights coach Thtr has confirmed his interests to move from Newcastle to the Bulldogs and is still waiting to hear back from NRL CEO Kiwikid33 for approval.

"Until i receive approval it's still full go ahead at Newcastle"

Official: CEO Blocks Thtr's Bulldogs Move
NRLMG CEO Kiwikid33 has enforced that no coach would be able to switch from one NRLMG club to another effectively blocking Thtr's plans to switch from the Knights to the Bulldogs.

Coach Thtr was unavailable for comment but a spokesperson on his behalf sees no problem with the decision made.

McCrone linked to Knights

Canberra halfback will link up with the Newcastle Knights should Matt Orford sign with the Raiders.

A estimated deal has been worked out between Raiders coach Brenton and Knights coach Thtr which would involve McCrone going to Newcastle and Kyle O'Donnell and Esi Tonga going to Canberra.

Brenton confirms reports regarding Thtr

Canberra Raiders coach Brenton has confirmed the proposed deal with Thtr regarding a trade is true. The trade involved the Raiders receiving promising backrower Kyle O'Donnell and young centre Esikeli (Esi) Tonga, with Thtr (coach of the Newcastle Knights) receiving Josh McCrone. The trigger to this deal is Matt Orford. If the former Manly star signs with the Raiders then the trade will go ahead. If he doesn't then it will be business as usual for the two teams.

"Esi will be a great fit for our team, we have a very young backline here at the moment particularly with the injury of Brent Tate."

Tonga and O'Donnell will join other young stars Kevin Gordon, Kane Linnett, Drury Low, Sam Mataora and Jason Taumalolo

Well it's the off-season, so you can't really expect much activity. It'll fire up towards the start of March.

Yeah but ever since NRLMG came back it just really wasn't as good as it was at the start of last season. Hope it can get back to it's prime.

Piggy comes to Bondi

Roosters Management are glad to announce the signing of former Dragons and Eels Hooker Mark 'Piggy' Riddell.

After playing the last two season for Wigan in the ESL, Piggy has returned home.

Coach Dub is very excited at the prospect of Piggy joining his already strong playing group.

"We already have made improvements to our squad, by adding a lot of representative experience and young players, and this signing will add to our overall depth".

Farrell set to be Five-Eighth at the Knights
HE May of debuted in the centres for South Sydney but the Incoming Knight has his eyes set on the currently vacant No.6 jersey.

Farrell who is likened to Test Rep and Broncos centre Justin Hodges and is just 19 year old has a long future ahead of him but at the present time he will be playing 2nd receiver to Chris Sandow.

However there is no current guarantee the youngster will be active within the NRLMG with alot hanging with his team-mate who also came from the Bunnies in Beau Champion.

The Rabbitohs signing of Greg Inglis who has recently gone to the Roosters has put a large cloud on Champion's future at the Rabbitohs, With him being linked to Parramatta and now the Panthers while Parramatta has confirmed no interest in Champion, Penrith are looking at him as an option possibly for next year and this transfer will have legs if the NRL Rules the Rabbitohs to be over the cap after signing Inglis and having to shed a player.

The Knights also have the unpredictable Ben Rogers as a five-eighth option though it's expected Farrell will get the nod as the first opportunist.

Houston Cleared; To Re-Join Knights
Once origin bound Chris Houston has been acquitted of all drug supply charges, and will re-join the Newcastle Knights next year.

Thtr is ecstatic with this news;

Chris is a great player and will be the X Factor for us next year.

CEO Steve Burraston will be going to the knights board and appealing to re-instate Houston at the Knights, In those words Houston was never officially released.

Missing pieces Coming Together for Knights

The Newcastle Knights are expected to receive some good news over the forthcoming week(s) with the signing of Chris Houston who is fresh off being cleared from drug supply.

Knights CEO Steve Burraston has spoken to Chris and he seems pretty set on where he wants to be and isn't obliged to re-sign with the club Houston who averaged a solid 36 in the 2009 season will be looking to find similar or better form for 2011 and is tipped to come into the Newcastle line-up and captain the squad.

If that isn't enough the GI Saga looks to be a win-win situation for the Knights, Greg Inglis who is currently blocking Farrell's NRLMG activity is currently being blocked from playing for the Rabbitohs who will have to offload at least one player to accomodate signing the test representative centre.

Should the rabbitohs not be able to secure Inglis then Dylan Farrell would return to his centre position that he seemingly nailed down after a powerful debut and backed it up holding his own in the NRL, Should the Rabbitohs be able to offload a player to accomodate Inglis and that player is highly rumoured to be Beau Champion who would vacate a position for Farrell and also continue NRLMG activity with a new club effectively giving the Knights two new regular playing stars along with Houston.

Houston
voluntarily quit after the allegations began earlier this year but
pleaded his Innocence throughout the whole investigation, He was cleared
early last week of any involvement.

Big trade for Knights

After long talks between the Knights and the Roosters both parties have finally come to a mutual agreement.

Chris Houston, Beau Champion & Todd Lowrie have been wished farewell by the Knights as they head to the Roosters.

The Roosters meanwhile have traded in Former Eels & Dragons Hooker Mark Riddell known for his trademark solute to the crowd when goal-kicking, and have re-formed a strong centre combination in Greg Inglis & Chris Lawrence with SKD and Gasnier being the pre-decessors and also the signing of BJ Leilua will prove good for there backline stocks who will join Blake Ferguson as options if injuries occur.

Thtr quoted "I'm happy with the trade, I got real question marks on Mark Riddell's form for next year but Houston also hasn't played for a year so also. But our backline has been boosted significantly with 3 backs trading out 1 with two been significant figures to the team"

Roosters Bolster Pack

In the previously mentioned trade by Knights Manager THTR, the Roosters have added forwards Chris Houston and Todd Lowrie to an already intimidating pack. Both are looking for big year's in 2010, Houston looking to resurrect his career after a forgettable 2010, and Lowrie looking to consolidate a place in the significantly weakened Storm pack.

These two join a pack that already consists of Ryles, Farah, Manu, Fenson, Ellis, Bird, Warea-Hargreaves, Paterson, Kennedy and Masoe.

Along with the two forwards, the Roosters have acquired up and coming centre Beau Champion, who is looking to build on a highly successful 2010 campaign.

Unfortunately, the Bondi outfit had to say goodbye to stars Greg Inglis, Chris Lawrence, Mark Riddell and BJ Lleilua.

Stig the Knight Card

COMPLETELY out of the spotlight is young Ryan Stig has returned home to Newcastle after a short stint up in Queensland's north.

Signed to return home to help find the answer to partner Jarrod Mullen in the halves after Scott Dureau's departure, Unbeknown to many people that he is odds on to get a jumper over former Dragons NYC player Beau Henry.

The Knights have signalled to the media that Ben Rogers will get first chance to parter Mullen in the halves but due to Henry nursing a shoulder injury, Stig is their next best option.

"Obviously 20's is a big step down from the top grade and you have to look at Stig first on the basis of he has played a full year in the Queensland Cup competition which is above standard to NSW Cup and Toyota Cup and also the fact Beau Henry is nursing a shoulder injury and alot of questions are being asked if he is ready yet, Stig is a solid defender and as i said previously he has a full year under the QLD Cup under his belt and featured heavily".

Trials to determine teams, not averages

Knights coach Thtr believes that Trial form will play a big part in selection not just for his team but for the entire NRLMG.

And the Depth stocks are full at Newcastle with 30 players all a chance for a bench spot or in some case better.

We have 30 players vying for 17 spots, While I don't expect a major change, There will be a few twinges to the team before Round 1.

Johnson the Knight?
The Weekly Telegraph

Knights officials are expecting the signature of Cowboys star fantasy scorer Dallas Johnson momentarily.

It's understood that Newcastle has all but enticed Cowboys owner Brenton to make Dallas Johnson the sacrificial lamb in a trade which will see up to three players heading to Dairy Farmers.

The Knights are in a position to table multiple quantity losses to opposing teams after assailing ridiculous NRL depth and looks certain to cash in that depth well and truly.

The Knights team is quickly gaining ground with the recent addition of Matt Orford bringing with him an average of 37 from 2008 and possibly Johnson who will be walk in captain with an impressive 46 from 2009.
