http://www.earthlings.com/

One of the most powerful documentaries I have ever watched.

Obviously I was already aware of a lot of the morally objectionable behavior involved in putting our meat on the table, but this was really eye opening.

I for one will be taking a lot more interest in where my food is coming from and making a conscious effort the meat i am eating is not of this nature.

I think I'll probably eat a lot less meat after watching this, and I have survived, untill now, on a largely carnivorous diet.

Well worth the watch if you have a spare 90 minutes to kill.

Yeah, a lot of these videos sort of sway my point of view on certain foods. I saw one about how KFC treat their chickens and I very rarely eat KFC now considering how poorly the chickens were treated.

Will check this video out sometime.

You are part of the group of people that annoy me.

KFC in America might do that, but over here, KFC / Red Rooster get their chickens from Steggles. They have nothing to do with how the chickens are treated before they get to their shops.

Half of these documentaries (like Peta) make me annoyed. Sure, they might be eye opening, but they don't sway my opinion at all. A man's got to eat when a man's got to eat. Vegans annoy me almost as much as Edge people

True, but they do have the ability to decide where they source their chicken from.

Yeah they do, and Steggles are a well respected company for their dealings with chickens. They are as humane as they come

Agree 100%. Made a lot of good points, especially being annoyed by people not eating it after they see the docos. WTF do they think happens to the chickens? Roam free, fulfill a long life and are sent to bed with a nice bedtime story? Wake up folks.

Yeah, it is a pretty controversial subject. Each to their own, not really one of those people to debate it though.

Liam, I saw your post before you deleted it. No I don't expect chickens to be treated like rockstars but some of the things they do to the chickens is cruel. Regardless if KFC is responsible or not, I'm not too keen on eating chicken which has been treated how it has.

So my question again was why did you eat it in the first place, before the docos? It's obvious what happens. THEY DIE.

Why did I eat it before? Because I was unaware of the treatment of the chickens. And of course they die Liam, what do you expect. But breaking their legs, cutting their beaks, feeding them with a ridiculous amount of steroids among other things is just not on IMO..

To be honest, if it doesn't affect how someone lives their life then I wouldn't let anyone tell me what to eat.

If I'm not eating their pets or family then they can go away and preach to someone who's weak-minded like them.

Not really, but then again if i do drink milk products i will drink soy milk, but that is mainly as i prefer the taste.

But most people go through a stage of their life drinking breast milk, it just sounds weird and isn't that crazy.
