What's the easiest way to get from Melbourne Airport to Hawthorn other than by taxi?

Are there shuttles that operate? Or a bus that will take me straight there?

Transport is a bitch from the airport. There are buses that take you to southern cross which is in Docklands, then you can take a train from there I think.,

Not sure though

yeah take a bus from the airport going to Southern Cross and then you can jump on a Belgrave or Lilydale Train and get off at Hawthorn Station

A taxi to the closest train station is best. The whatever station you are at, get it to Flinders St then catch the Belgrave, Lilydale, Alamein and I think the Glen Waverley line as well to Hawthorn. I'm probably wrong about the Glen Waverley line though. But yeah, transport from the airport is a joke. The sooner a train from the city to the airport is introduced, the better off we'll all be.

Brilliant cheers mate.

THese are the instructions my mate gave me, which seem to pretty much be what you guys are saying

Sup man. Get the sky bus from the airport it takes u to southern cross station then train to glenferrie can get the Alamein, lilydale or belgrave line. If u want u could cab from southern cross for about $25 might b easier for ya time wise aswell but up to u. Taxi from airports usually bout $70 iv done it a bit but it's steep when ya solo so up to u. Addy is XXX Salisbury Grove, Hawthorn. Shit we getting on it

Bus 2 hour ticket + train(you only need one ticket for both modes of transport) is like $3.20 full fare, that should do unless you get seriously lost.

Couldnt hurt to ask around, ask the Metro staff or something what platform The Lillydale or Belgrave is on, because if you have never been to Southern Cross it can be quite overwhelming.

I don't know how much the Skybus costs but I wouldn't ask Metro staff for help. Unhelpful bunch of cunts if I ever met one.

Salisbury Grove is closer to Glenferrie than Hawthorn station and it's not too bad of a walk probably 5-10 minutes.

Yeah wasn't sure about the Glen Waverley line. I've only caught it a couple of times home from TAFE. Safe to say, never doing it again hahaha!!

What suburb are you from Sprooly? Surrey Hills wasn't it?

And how's RR going mate? I never got to ask you.
