Saturday the 4th of December will be New Zealand's inaugural National Crate Day where participants from around the country will head to a mates place with a crate of beer and drink the day away. This will be an annual event held on the first Saturday of summer. The event was created by Jas and Dunc from the Rock FM.

For those who don't know, a crate of beer is 12x750ml bottles which is 9 litres, the equivalent of about 27 standard beers. In order to complete this task participants may need to get the event under way early. I propose a midday start with a variety of meats being served up during the day.

Although this is a NZ national event it would be awesome to see Aussies getting in amongst it.

Smashed back my crate last night at number 11 I was pushed off a massive fence had a mild concussion and annihilated my toe but charged down the last bottle.
