Oh unlucky Sparky. It's such a C*** of a virus

I used the one Damo suggested http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-security-tool

I printed out the pages and went through the process. Worked a tread Very Happy.

I'm in Safe Mode but the Internet won't work (IE and Mozilla).

Do I D/L the program through Safe Mode or Normal Mode?

Internet not working? It worked for me when I was in safe mode. I just downloaded what the website told me to download. There's 3 or 4 programs that you must download throughout the process. I won't be able to respond until tonight, but tell me what goes on anyway.

Yeah the Internet won't connect!!

Got no idea what's going on as to why.

I'll have another go later. So frustrating though.

Just download it on another computer, put it onto a USB and transfer it across.

would do less damage to your cpu.

I have no idea why your net wouldn't connect. Mine was fine throughout the whole process.

If I was to do this, would I run the computer on Safe or Normal Mode after I've put it onto
a USB.

From memory, Safe Mode is required to prevent the Virus from interfering with the program (which it does quite effectively IIRC)

I'm back folks.

Turns out the virus had turned off the internet, so yeah, we had to take it to a computer technician guy we know. He fixed it and kept all the stuff we wanted, plus updated our computer to Windows 7 and made it faster and all that.

But yeah, it's a bloody nasty virus. I don't know why, but that's three years in a row, at this point in 2008, 2009 and now 2010 that our computer has had a problem and that being viruses. Bloody annoying I tell ya.

But yeah, good to have the computer finally running and back doing what I enjoy, surfing the net.

Man that virus really got you bad. It was no where near that bad on my computer. I was always confident the program I was using would work. It had really positive feedback. It worked a treat for me. Main thing is your comp is fine now though.
