Incredible sportsperson who should be recognised more.

She is a wheelchair tennis player from the Netherlands, 29 year old whose career has spanned 13 years. Former wheelchair Basketball player who made the switch to tennis.

Since the 31st of March, 2001 she has only lost one singles match and that is against her opponent in the Final of the Australian Open Daniela Di Toro from Australia.

Winner of 142 singles titles and 124 doubles titles, She has won every grand slam singles event she has ever entered bar one which was her first grand slam singles event in 2002 where she was runner up.

She won 250 consecutive sets in a row from sometime in 2004 to sometime in 2006 and is currently on a 401 match winning streak only ever losing 25 in her 13 year career.

She should be known as one of the best sportspersons in this era and should be taken for who an able person is taken as, Clijsters for example.

She will be looking to win her 143rd career singles title against Di Toro and you'd certainly have to back her.

I made a mistake, She is undefeated in Grand Slam History in Singles. She has only ever lost once in Doubles in her first event in 2002 where her partner and her finished runner up.

She is actually really good to watch play. It's very good stuff seeing her able to do so well.

She questioned herself last year when broadcaster ESPN asked her to pose naked for its annual Body Issue magazine. She liked the idea of illustrating that every body has its own unique strength but was still scared witless.

ESPN persisted, and Vergeer realised she could make a statement similar to her tennis - that even in a wheelchair, ''I can still work my ass off and be the best I can be.'' Her picture adorns the cover. ''It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I did it and I'm proud of it.''

She won the Doubles final too 10-5 in the third.

She is quite easily the most remarkable sportsperson I've ever heard of.

419 and 0 since 2003. Has won EVERY masters events she has played in and EVERY singles grand slam event she has played in and rarely loses in the Doubles as well.

She took out the Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles this year at Roland Garros.

She is basically Indestructable.

I'd imagine she'd have some kind of Endorsements as well. Not sure about prizemoney in wheelchair tennis. Maybe something like 100k per grand slam win?. I'd imagine it be a fair whack smaller.

The real miss Universe wins again. What a LEGEND!.

She won both Singles and Doubles yet again, The Doubles match was very tight and she eventually won that with her partner Walraven also from Holland 6-4 in the third after losing the 2nd in a tie-breaker.

Her singles match typified of how she never gives an ounce with a 6-2 6-1 romp; Dutch wheelchair tennis is in really good stead, The Doubles and Singles finals all contained Dutch players.

425th consecutive win (I think) and still going.
