PostSubject: A-League Finals   Sun Feb 13, 2011 10:46 pm

Might as well just talk about them all in the one thread.

Feb 18th
Adelaide vs. Wellington
Feb 19th
Central Coast vs. Brisbane
Feb 20th
Gold Coast vs. Melbourne Victory
Feb 25th
Brisbane vs. Central Coast

--------------------

Hoping the 'Nix can back up from winning last time at Adelaide with another win here. Ifill is a chnce to make a come back which would be massive, would probably be on the bench though but could make a big impact coming off it. Got Durante back as well which is great for our defence. 2-1 to us, Greenacre and Ifill scoring for us.

It'd be good if Phoenix can get up did the job a couple weeks back so that will give them a lot of confidence.
Think we should really beat GCU no excuses they have been poor the last two games so I reckon they seem very vulnerbale and with Kruse, Thompson, Allsopp and Hernandez all hopefully fit that will be very helpful towards us.
To the other game I think CCM have a real chance of getting through...don't think they'll win at Suncorp but at Bluetongue is where I think they can do their damage.

Gonna be a good few games.

if we play like we did against the gold coast we'll spank central coast anywhere. but dunno if we can back up that performance. Solorzano is apparently back which is great news. in other games im tipping

Adelaide 2-1 Wellington
Gold Coast 1-1 Melbounre (GC win in penalties)

We'll win. Serge and Cassio back and with an attack like ours, i think we can win convincingly.

Considering they both started last time, that point is invalid.

Except Cassio went off injured. Usucar went to LB, who is a DM, and played on Rojas. And Leckie didn't play.

Can't see them winning over here twice in 2 weeks. You caught us at a bad time. Serge, Flores, Dodd, Leckie, Slory, Cassio, now that's not going to be easy to handle.

If we can contain Rojas, then you're in trouble.

i'll take a 1-0 win but really we should be winning these games comfortably, apart from Mullen were pretty much at full strength.

if we lose this it'll be an almighty choke

Don't know where else to put this, but Paul Reid's walked out on Adelaide Utd. Had his AFC transfer to Sydney denied and told Coolen to not pick him against Wellington.

that was fucking woeful last night, the goal was like the only decent chance we had, Nix dominated for most parts.

play like that against Gold Coast or Melbourne and it could get ugly for us. got another home final though so should be a good night, should be a sell-out.

Brisbane pretty much have the home GF now can't see CCM scoring 2 goals at Suncorp at a bare minumum.

Yeah Brissy you'd think have got it wrapped up. Brissy's 2nd goal was nice. Nice cross from Franjic, who I thought was terrific tonight and a nice finish by McKay.

Pumped for the game tomorrow against GC. I've heard that Thompson and Hernandez may not start. C'mon Melbourne!

yeah also heard they're probably not starting and with Porter, Djite and Van den brink back i think gold coast would be favrourites going into it.

Bloody shattered, concede in the 91st minute to lose 1-0. Was a cracking game, very open and heaps of chances for both sides.

GCU deserved the win though they definitely had more chances. We started the game very well, Kruse was given heaps of room early. But from then on GC had the better of the chances.

Bring on the ACL

Yeah I had feeling that if we could get through this game and have Kruse, Thompson, Allsopp + Hernandez all playing together for the rest of the finals I reckon we could've been tough to beat.

Dissapointing to go out like that thought we would've won that match especially after the first 10 or so minutes but GCU are 4th for a reason and they did well to restrict us to no goals...very open game both teams had chances and would've had rightful claims of victory....just the way it goes sometimes.

Bloody good game between Brisbane and CCM...not only did they save themsleves from not hosting the GF but still extended their unbeaten streak...CCM though are the only ones who can challenge Brisbane I feel at Suncorp think Adelaide or GCU will get comfortably defeated.

Amazing fight back once again, so proud of the lads and it would have been a shame for the A-League if we managed to let that one slip and not get the right to host the GF. One to go boys, the big one!!

Amazing couple of games... shows how far the A-League has come in the past couple of years. Thought CCM were brilliant on Saturday night, just shows how tough it is to beat Brisbane at the moment. Would have been a massive let down if Brisbane didn't host the Grand Final, fair result in the end.

Epic game yesterday, Adelaide really should have gone on and won it after being 2-1 up with 20 odd minutes to play. What was with the booing towards Djite? He left the club on good terms, has stated that he would like to play for Adelaide again one day and didn't celebrate the goal he scored!?
