Just watched the second round of Fujitsu (?) races. Paul Morris had a vendetta against Nick Percat for the entire weekend and made him spin out in the last race.

Percat is Tander's protege (of sorts) and Tander had some interesting words to say. To paraphrase:

Quote :
A guy in the twilight of his career, who hasn't achieved anything, is taking out the kids who are the future of the sport. That's pretty poor.

A lot of people in the local sport really don't like the old man.

Of course. You've gotta be on Garth's side here.

Paul Morris is an absolute fuckwit. Always has been, and always will be. I for one have zero respect for the guy. He's never been a good sport. He decides to sign youngsters up, treats them like crap, whinges when they have an accident, then kicks them out. The only reason he's gotten where he is in the sport is off the back of his father's cash.

The fact that he always looks to deliberately take out other drivers tells you a lot about the guy. No class whatsoever. He's an arsehole.

Fair enough.

Percat probably still needs to watch his back, then. For drivers to actively target you in races is never good.

Yeah, I feel sorry for the guy.

I remember a few years back at Bathurst (maybe '06?), youngster Alan Gurr was Morris' co-driver. Gurr had a spin at the top of the Mountain, which took them out of the race. When interviewed from the pits, Morris had a huge whinge, saying something like "That's the end of his career then". The guy interviewing him was stunned.

Years earlier, Brocky had a crash which was almost a carbon copy, on the last lap of the race, yet he wasn't crucified about it.

Also, did you read about what happened behind the scenes at the Gold Coast meeting last year? Morris had an argument with Alex Tagliani (who was driving for Kelly Racing), after the latter's car was wiped out by Ingall. Morris picked him up and grabbed him by the throat because of the disagreement.

That's shocking. And he's been allowed to get away with that stuff ...

I know mate, tell me about it.

On many occasions, people have called for him to be banned from the sport. I remember about 10 years ago when he was given a one-round ban after taking out Neil Crompton in a heavy crash at Albert Park. He simply asked daddy to pay him out, and they allowed him to race.

CAMS or VESA or whoever really need to grow a set of balls and do something about him. It's beyond a joke.

Sounds like FIA ... They seemed to favour Schumey/Ferrari a lot.

Morris has always been a wanker if the highest order. It's a real shame that no one had ever put one on his chin
