How many of these guys will stay active? And why's it a big rush to get started (the season doesn't even start until next year for us?).

Would have been keen for a draft TBH.

Most, close to all. Not an entire rush, I just like to get into things when the thread's up otherwise interest could disappear. That's the way I think aha Razz

Plus it's fun making the team list and seeing the reactions. Especially if neil gets Port again.

Thanks for the offer Teal but think I'll have to pass. Whilst an AFL fan, I don't play the AFL fantasy game and my knowledge of players is probably limited to just the Swans Laughing Just from an outside perspective I would have thought of doing a draft as well. For the EPLMG the draft format will be used again and for the NRLMG I am thinking of using it for next season. Up to you though as you're the admin.

Looks like it's getting to your head teal (the power) - don't do that again.

Wouldn't want essendon Razz

But would want people to be happy - no rush, as Panthers said. Is a draft a better option?

I'm still putting forward my idea, I can see a draft dragging on and people becoming less interested. Takes 12 rounds off the draft

Thats my first preference
Then team allocation
Then full draft

I like neil's idea too. Not as boring as full team allocations and less time-consuming than a full draft.

We could do this:

Have a full draft, but have two divisions of eight teams each with a relegation/promotion system?

But really, the easy idea of team allocation could be done easy we've got teams and can trade and all that. Really drafts don't have enough time as we can deal with retirements, trades, drafts early. We can trade draft picks now as well.

We just need three more. The original way worked last time.

I agree a vote is needed

So we have 3 options unless there is another option

Why are you always right Teal - remember, it's both of us running it, and it's a split call between us - the members want a vote too.

we were working towards 17. We're at 14 at the moment, and all should be active. to be fair, drafting limits trading. where as assigned teams you can always improve, its more fun.

You're not listening - the co-admin disagrees with you, the senior members disagree with you, why won't you back down? AFIAC you're the only one who thinks the way you are right now so just leave it - it won't happen.

We can have a draft with however many we get.

So you're saying that there's no way a draft is happening?

Cynic - we have 14 ATM, I reckon that's a good number personally as it means you don't get to the 'needing 6 replacements' and it means you can have depth without having too much as well, and have free agency.

If ACRDB and JRR and Maj pull out then it's not a great loss as we can replace 3 - if there's 17 and we have 3 more guys we don't know, then it's possibly 6 that we'd have to replace over time.

roll with 14, and IMO you should be able to draft ND picks for the end of the year.

Cynic - want to do up an order (it'd be a snake draft)

Reversing order each round?

And no drafting ND picks, as that's just silly. Leave that draft to another randomiser. I'll also be able to remind those 3. 14 team league can work with 8 teams making finals, so its a familiar system?

yeah. run with 14.

point is, if they don't show up we can replace them. it's harder with 16.

snake =

2.
3.
3.
