Absolutely zero chance Beer won't be #11 if he plays.

IMO Khawaja will play over marsh too.

Going to be a tough tour, we can't play spin for shit. I take it Midge hasn't been working on his bowling ? Laughing .. SOK looked good, give him the baggy.. Dilshan is world class, one of my fav players in World Cricket even if he does act like a wanker sometimes, so good to watch.

And Dave Hussey has struck Grin What a gun, bowling very economically here.

Lankans are 5/140. In a good position here.

Punter has been superb, looks back to his best. Looks a new player since giving up the captaincy that's for sure.

There was to much pressure on him to conform, very sad to see him lost in the leadership ranks but looks like its for the better.

Aussies are up against the Sri Lanka Board XI.

Copeland - 5/47
Khawaja - 101 (retired)
Hughes - 76
Clarke - 70*

^The standouts thus far.

Probable XI for the 1st Test - 1. Watson 2. Hughes 3. Ponting 4. Clarke (c) 5. Hussey 6. Khawaja 7. Haddin 8. Johnson 9. Harris 10. Copeland 11. Beer
--
As for the ODI's - really impressive series win. Sri Lanka are a top side, especially at home and remembering they did beat us in Aust last year. All the bowlers looked the goods and it was great to see Punter back to his best.

Copeland's height will definitley assist the bowling attack since Australia don't have a strike bowler.

Just doesn't fit in at the moment.

Copeland keeps it tight from one end (or that's the plan) then Johnson, Harris and Lyon get to attack from the other. If needed Watto can also hold up an end.

Well done to Nathan Lyon for taking 5/34 on debut. Great stuff by Watto as well chipping in with 3/11.

Damn, Clarkey just got out, batted well for his 60. Currently 278 ahead, we really should be able to defend anything from here. I don't see the Lankans chasing down anything more than 300.

why isn't snicko being used in the review system. Hussey has just been given out believed that the ball hit his glove on the way batpad. If the umpires aren't that sure, you dont give it out. Where the hell was snicko or hot spot??

For out we've just lost 3/2. Need Khawaja to step up here.

Is anyone else over Haddin? He's a terrible keeper tbh and his batting isn't much better. Too hit and miss if he gets in he can do damage but it just isn't happening often enough.

Timmy Paine ftw.

All out for 210. The tail did pretty well at the end.

Sri Lanka need 379 to win. Surely can't not win from here.

Great win, you could see how much this one meant to the players! Excellent start for Pup and the debutants. Lyon looked really impressive albeit on a spin friendly deck. Copeland kept things tight, something that we've been lacking for the past two years. Huss you champ, top innings under all sorts of pressure and quality stuff from Harris. Smile

Kudos to Jayawardene, class innings on a shocking pitch.

Well done to Huss and Shaun Marsh on both bringing up their 100s. Especially to Shaun Marsh who bring up his maiden test 100 on debut!

Currently 3/304, looking really good.

HUGHES!! Grin What a gutsy knock at a time when the Sri Lankans were really pressing on for victory.

To come away with an ODI series win and more importantly the Test series in Sri Lanka is a huge result. The lads have batted superbly this match, it's been a great team effort with the bat. Well done to Clarke on winning his first 'official' Test series as skipper.

Onto the Saffers.
