PostSubject: Flushing Meadows   Mon Aug 29, 2011 1:11 pm

Starts tonight our time.

Tomic has a tricky early draw, One of two Males in the draw, The other being Marinko Matosevic who plays Chela ironically who he lost to at Wimbledon in Round 1, Tomic Faces Yani Round 1 and then Cilic or Harrison will near certainly play Roger Federer in Round 3.

Djokovic has the easiest draw in the world, Faces Niland from Ireland and then will play either Pere Riba or Carlos Berlocq round 2 and then Dodig or Davydenko round three.

Gadjosova (formely Groth) has walkovers Rnd 1 and 2 but then faces Wozniacki Round 3, Casey Dellacqua is in that same quarter of the draw.

Dokic is in the second draw but most likely faces Jankovic in the 2nd if she got through okay.

Rodionova is in draw three, potentially faces Wickmayer Rnd 2, The Radwanska sisters play each other Round 1 in that same quarter

Stosur has a fair draw, Would face No.24 Petrova in Round 3 if results went as expected.

Andy Roddick's poor form as of late has dropped him to 21st seed, The world seeding he has had in any grand slam since he was a teenager.

Bernard Tomic actually played last night and got through comfortably, Would of liked to watch him but I didn't know he was on last night. He won 63 64 64 over some hack Yani so it probably wasn't the best performance but it's only early in the Tournament...He'll play Cilic next. Will be a tough game for him.

Stosur got through okay but Rodionova is OUT.

Last year's Champ Kvitova is out.

Federer has just started, Juan Carlos Ferrero looks to take his game into the 5th set & Monfils leads 2-0 over Dimugatrov

Sharapova needed 3 sets ... urgh. The sooner she's out the better.

Federer won 64 63 62 over Giraldo, Juan Carlos Ferrero won in five over Andujar.

No major upsets in the mens draw so far, Fernando Gonzalez lost but he's out of form and the player he lost to isn't bad, I just forget who it was to. Might of been Dodig from Croatia.

Federer was diabolical, I know it's only very early in the Open but he needs to step it up, Especially R3 against either Cilic or Tomic

There is something in the water with the Ladies draw, Na Li is out of the open, The two most recent champions, Kvitova and now Li. Also Noting Hantuchova lost easily to Parmentier of France.

Matosevic retired to Chela.

The Mens draw is going to plan so far no real upsets at all.

Dokic and Gajdosova both got through in Straight Sets, Dellacqua lost!.

^Novak Djokovic clear favourite.

Murray and Nadal probably the two main challengers. Although, Rafa is in average form ATM. Tsonga or Fish have the game to go deep into the second week and are in good form.

It's been a pretty average US Open thus far imo.

Sharapova's gone but the women's draw remains full of non-sexy screamers so there's no reprieve at all ...
