Was talking to Teal and carlton about this - what players are the best draft pick for the number they were taken at. E.g. Who is the best number one draft pick etc. Let's get a list happening!

Andrew Raines and Shane Tuck were both taken in the 70's somewhere.

Chris Newman was taken at 53 i think it was.

But the one that takes the cake is Dean Cox. Taken in the Rookie Draft, not even in the National Draft. Davey, Foley and Carrazzo are other notable mentions who were taken in the Rookie Draft.

Ablett was a father son pick, shouldn't count, he would have been top 10 if he wasn't a father son pick..

James Hird went around 70, Chris Grant went in the 100's of his draft.

Exactly.

Rookie drafts don't go by number. This topic's about draft pick numbers.

Rookie drafts therefore don't count.
