PostSubject: The Official Weather thread   Wed May 20, 2009 1:39 am

Please tell us your stories.

Mine is that i couldn't go to uni (USC) today (or have decided not to) because apparently most roads there and back were flooded. Bruce Highway southbound, Beerburrum Rd Beerburrum, Pumicestone Rd Caboolture all flooded - but 1 lane of the highway northbound was open. Which meant i could have gone to uni but I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET HOME. And the Caboolture River is just about flooded too.

For any of you that are interested here are my rainfall observation from my house:

Monday - 22mm
Tuesday - midnight-3pm: 80mm, 3pm-midnight: 67mm = 147mm
Wednesday - midnight to 7.30am: 107mm, 7.30am-10.30am: 106mm, 10.30am-midday: 54mm, noon to midnight: 32mm = 299mm

Total: 468mm

That was intense!

hinze dam is always 99% full - never takes much

the worst thing about this is the dams will go above 60% the State Government will ease water restrictions and we'll go back to wasteage until we have no water again

hooray for 33 hours straight rain! (at my place anyway)
