NSW lock Paul Gallen has been ruled out of Wednesday's State
of Origin series opener against Queensland due to a shoulder injury.

Gallen has been under an injury cloud since entering the camp last Tuesday and
his place will be taken by fellow Test forward Anthony Laffranchi, who joined the Blues camp on Thursday.

Laffanchi deserves to be there, but ahead of Weymen or Poore, not Gallen.

Anyway I don't think they lose anything with Laffranchi coming into the side

I reckon Gallen is a fair bit of a loss for them. Plays with passion and is a tough competitor.

Yer its a bit of a loss but Laffranchi would be equal or even better than what he would bring to the side. Caity's probably a bit dissapointed that hes not in there as the 5 penalties he is guaranteed to give away in a game wont be there and replaced with a strong runner in Laffranchi. 18th Man might be Watmough, not that I rate him but thats the way the NSW selectors will most likely go.

No he's a good player although he's good for penalties aswell.

Good, is Lewis starting or will Laffranchi get the green light. All is good, really didnt want Gallen amongst the mix, his form isnt too great.
