Wont matter who is playing, chances are ill be going as they always have at least 3-4 acts that i want to see. Plus my summer wouldn't be complete without going. Though i doubt anything will be able to beat seeing Rage play in 2008.

At this point, it appears that the main candidates to headline are Blur, No Doubt, blink-182 and Faith No More. Blur could make me drop my BDO embargo, and the other 3 wouldn't go down too bad either.

blink-182 would be much better at Soundwave, Faith No More and No Doubt probably would be too. In terms of other acts I've been hearing about (non-headliners), the quality is lacking yet again. We're spoiled for choice with festivals right now, and BDO has become way too complacent.

I wouldn't go for No Doubt or Blur...but definitely would go for Faith No More and Blink 182

I probably wouldn't have gone for Blur, but after their Glasto performance, they might do it by themselves. Having said that, I'd probably go anyway.

Won't happen. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I actually know the person that dropped the rumour to a few blogs. Has done it a couple of times before, and when he showed the results in an IRC room, everyone lol'd. If by some act of god Bowie winds up on the bill, the joke is going to become even more epic.

Some names that are almost guaranteed to be on the bill: Muse, Placebo, Powderfinger, Groove Armada, Mastodon, Kasabian, Dizzee Rascal, The Mars Volta, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Foals, Girl Talk (epic) Rise Against, Calvin Harris, Massive Attack (I hope not, far too good for BDO), Passion Pit, The Dead Weather (lame), Lisa Mitchell

And there'll probably be another headliner tailored to the oldies. McCartney is the most likely name to show up in that slot, unfortunately Neil Young wasn't a big hit with a lot of the BDO's key demographic - bogans with shit taste in music.

tl;dr? Some quality, but not as much as Soundwave.

The Mars Volta would be awesome, none of the rest of those do too much for me.

Wouldn't mind about half the names I listed, but it probably won't be enough to get me to endure the sea of bogans. Sideshows ahoy. Oh, and people should know there's always bound to be a couple of acts off the Warp, Domino and DFA rosters each year.

That's pretty much the exact same line up that was rumoured on the Last FM event page for BDO. http://www.last.fm/event/1206264+Big+Day+Out+2010

Bold bands are the ones that I'd consider seeing. Mastodon, Vampire Weekend, Foals and Rise Against are the main ones.

Where do you get your info? I find it hard to believe that you can say all those bands are almost guaranteed.

Anyway if you're right, I'd be very stoked. The headliners generally aren't what appeal to me anyway, very few of my favourite bands are big enough to headline. I would be completely stoked with all of the bolded.

Girl Talk in particular would be exciting, especially in the boiler room
