Usain Bolt's 9.58 at world championships shatters 100-meter record

Bolt's done it again, destroying the previous record of 9.69 he set last year in Beijing. What an unbelievable superstar - hard to believe that he could be so dominant without roids but we can only hope he's genuine. His 0.11 second improvement in the WR was the biggest improvement in the 100-meter record since electronic timing began in 1968.

An absolute freak, and he didn't get a great start as well.

Tyson Gay ran 9.71 and it seemed SO slow compared to Bolt.

Here is the 100m record progression.

In 1977 when electronic timing was introduced the record stood at 10.06, Bolt is almost .5 secs faster.

Yeah it's pretty frightening. Imagine if Justin Gatlin was still around as well, the Athens 100M Gold Medalist, and he also won the 100M and 200M at the World Champs in 05'.

It'd be Gay, Bolt, Powell and Gatlin. But Gatlin won't be back for a couple of years unfortunately, as he's serving a 4 Year Ban. But his PB was 9.77. So, maybe when he comes back, these 4 for London 2012 could put on a real show.

Monique Williams breaks N.Z National Record in 22.96 for 200m maybe she can Make The Final . Not sure know as the Other Heats are very fast but still good on her.
