My two girls Dulko and Kirilenko are still in. Absolutely wrapped with that.

Venus Williams and Kim Clijsters both won their matches this morning. They'll now face each other in the 4th round and that match will be a cracker, Clijsters dominated her match 6-0 6-2 and played brilliantly, she really looks back to her best.

Nadal is about to play against Nicolas Kiefer.

Kirilenko lost to Li Na 6-4 6-2. At least Dulko is still in.

That will be a very dissapointing loss for A-Rod, Not discrediting Isner and his effort, But I feel this is A-Rod's best surface and really he should of won comfortably if everything went to script.

That's because he has played no one good yet.

He plays Nadal in the 4th round and will get smashed.

Federer and Clijsters going great guns... I'm happy.

Big questions marks over Rafa's fitness.

He called for the trainer in the third set, in his match against Nicolas Almagro. Apparently he has some sort of abdominal injury, hopefully he'll be ok, but if he can't serve at full strength he's going to have some big problems against the best players in the world.

Some great matches tonight at the US Open.

On the Men's side, Andy Murray takes on Marin Cilic. Gael Monfils takes on Rafael Nadal. Juan Martin Del Potro is up against Juan Carlos Ferrero, and finally, Jo Wilfred Tsonga plays Fernando Gonzalez.

On the Women's side, comeback girl Kim Clijsters is up against Li Na and Flavia Pennetta takes on Serena Williams in the night match.

My Tips:

Men's -

Cilic vs. Murray in 4.
Monfils vs. Nadal in 5.
Tsonga vs. Gonzalez in 4.
Del Potro vs. Ferrero in 3.

Women's -

Li Na vs. Clijsters in 3.
Pennetta vs. Williams in 2.

We shall see he certainly has the game to worry Rafa and if it is true that he isnt at full strength i can definately see Gael winning..

Monfils v Nadal will be a good match, Nadal doesnt seem to be at the peak of his fitness at the moment and he had to call for a trainer in his last game.

Clijsters is on fire, I'm really happy for her, I hope she takes out the women's comp, always been a favourite of mine. I wouldnt be surprised if she was in the top 5-10 in the world by the US Open next year, she is playing brilliantly.

Men's Singles - Quarterfinals:

Roger Federer def. Robin Soderling (6-0 6-3 6-7 7-6)
Novak Djokovic def. Fernando Verdasco (7-6 1-6 7-5 6-2)
Juan Martin Del Potro vs. Marin Cilic
Fernando Gonzalez vs. Rafael Nadal
I'm tipping both Nadal and Del Potro to win, in four tight sets.

Who the hell is Wickmayer, Chick from Belgium flies the flag with Clijsters.

I wonder what it will pay for an all belgium final.

interesting matches ahead tonight, why are they playing tie-breaks in the last set though? really ruins the match deciding it on one of those IMO

Gonzalez will beat Nadal - injury will succumb

Men's Semi Finals:

Roger Federer v Novak Djokovic
Martin Del Potro v ?? (Nadal leads QF match 7-6 6-6)

Women's Semi Finals:

Kim Clijsters v Serena Williams
Yanina Wickmayer v Caroline Wozniacki

TBH I havent heard of this Wickmayer woman before. Hopefully Clijsters continues her dream run, whoever wins Clijsters v Williams will win the whole thing IMO. Federer should defeat Djokovic and I think he will, while I dunno who MDP will face. Nadal's QF and the women's semi finals are being played tomorrow morning. Smile

Absolutely it was, there's no place for that in Tennis. By the way she told the lines women that she'd and I quote, "Put this fucking ball down your fucking throat."

the fact that the call was a wrong one doesnt come into the equation imo, she shouldnt have done what she did and its a good thing that they are willing to give the point to kimmy clijsters on a match point, like they would if it was on a meaningless point in the middle of set 1 or something...consistency is the key

Well one thing out of the situation was that it was never clear whether or not it actually was a foot fault. The camera people at ESPN or CBS or whoever should have had a camera at the baseline.

What she really said would be interesting i hear what they reckon she said but it could have been "I'll shove this tennis ball so far up ............" which could be construed as threatning To kill by Tennis ball thus expaining Confusion about threats made.
